Just wanted to post something like this for this time…
Lot of my friends asked me that how did I modify my desktop and turned it into something like this. Well, I just knew recently that we could modify our desktop to look better or at least more neat than before thanks to two programs called ‘Rainmeter’ and ‘Rocketdock’ that I accidentally saw at some site.
and what’re these programs?
“Rainmeter displays customizable skins, like memory and battery power, RSS feeds and weather forecasts, right on your desktop. Many skins are even functional: they can record your notes and to-do lists, launch your favorite applications, and control your media player – all in a clean, unobtrusive interface that you can rearrange and customize to your liking. Rainmeter is at once an application and a toolkit. You are only limited by your imagination and creativity.” (rainmeter.net)
“RocketDock is a smoothly animated, alpha blended application launcher. It provides a nice clean interface to drop shortcuts on for easy access and organization. With each item completely customizable there is no end to what you can add and launch from the dock.” (rocketdock.com)
Some of the rainmeter skin I usually used was taken from either http://xcyzbreathesmoe.wordpress.com or http://randomnessthing.com. But the current ones I used for my current desktop mostly customized by myself *I know it’s not as good as the skins that you could find at the cyberspace… lol.* plus some rainmeter skin taken from rainmeter.org.
For the detail, current skins used:
*Hexa-Network, Recycle Bin, Clock, Date, iTunes, HDD1, HDD2, RAM, SWAP
*Corner Calendar (modified)
*K-ON!! animated (many thanks to Kazasou for the animation script)
*Rocketdock-K-ON!! No, Thank You! icons
For the one who wants to modify your own desktop, further explanation about rainmeter and rocketdock will be posted later *and I’m planning to upload some rainmeter skin and rocketdock icons later*.
